The Old New Castle Court House is one of the few lasting courthouses of the 1600s in the United States. Built in 1730, the building now functions as a splendid museum for local history and culture. Featuring an impressive collection of exhibits that trace the town's history of Swedish, Dutch and English colonization, as well as the establishment of Delaware as a state. Located in the beautiful and historic Old City district and housed in a 1902 firehouse, The Fireman's Hall Museum is a great attraction for the whole family. The museum is dedicated to upholding the history of firefighting in Philadelphia and celebrating its heroes both past and present. The gallery in the museum has many pieces of antique fire equipment on display that demonstrate how far the technology of the profession has come over that last century. The museum frequently hosts awards ceremonies and benefits for local firehouses and community events. The admission is free but donations are graciously accepted.

Located in Fairmount Park, the place is regarded as one of the best playgrounds in Philadelphia. Spread over 6.5 acres (2.63 hectares), the playground welcomes over 1,000 kids every day. Featuring several activities that are conducive for physiological, behavioral and social development of the children, Smith Memorial Playground provides several opportunities for creative, unstructured play. The place also includes an adorable playhouse that caters to kids younger than 5 years of age. Often sought for private events such as birthday parties, Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse is a true local gem.
This monument sits mainly in the state of Delaware but also extends into Pennsylvania. The monument memorializes Delaware's significant role in American history as the first state to ratify the Constitution. The monument comprises several historic sites including the Dover Green, the New Castle Courthouse, Woodlawn Tract, the Old Swedes' Church, and the New Castle Sheriff's House. The various sites chronicle the initial settlement of Delaware by various different Europeans, as well as recognizing their interactions with the Native Americans of the area.
As the largest fully-functioning pipe organ in the world, the Wanamaker Organ has serenaded visitors to the Wanamaker Building with special concerts since 1911. Although ownership of the building has since changed over to Macy's, the organ can still be viewed and heard in all its splendor. The Wanamaker Organ is played at least twice daily Monday through Saturday, so be sure to stop by and hear it in person.
