The McDonald Mansion, also known as Mableton, is a historic residence in Santa Rosa, California. Built in 1876 as a summer home for the McDonald family, it underwent extensive remodeling in the 1920s. The mansion's exterior was featured in the film "Pollyanna" in 1959. A fire destroyed part of the house during a restoration process in 1977, but it was rebuilt by Dr. Jack Leissring. In 2005, John and Jennifer Webley purchased the property. A five-year renovation, starting in 2006, restored the exterior, added Victorian-themed rooms, and enhanced the backyard.
Built in 1873, Church of the Incarnation is an Episcopal Church believed to have been made from the wood of redwood trees. There are also 14 wood carvings on the church walls as well as stained glass windows. The carvings depict stories and moments from the life of Jesus quite magnificently while the stained glass windows add to the ethereal beauty of the church. After the earthquake of 1906, the church also doubled up as a rectory and morgue for a period of time. It’s also one of the few churches to have remained in continuous use since its construction.
