Este destacado de Castle Hill fue construido más de un siglo después de su histórico vecino, el Castillo de Buda. Fue diseñado por el arquitecto Frigyes Schulek y su construcción se completó en 1902, como parte de las conmemoraciones en honor al milésimo aniversario de la declaración de Hungría como estado. Contrario a lo que su nombre indica, el Bastión nunca sirvió como estructura de defensa, sino que es un mirador panorámico creado para la población de Budapest, que ofrece impresionantes vistas del Danubio. Por un precio accesible, la cima del mirador ofrece una gran oportunidad para sacar unas maravillosas fotografías. La terraza de estilo neogótico cuenta con siete torres que se alzan por encima de la construcción. Este es uno de los referentes de Budapest en el ámbito arquitectónico.

A pesar de su ubicación céntrica, la Isla Margarita es extremadamente tranquila. En verano, es muy popular entre los lugareños que vienen aquí a relajarse. Alquila una bicicleta, trota, nada en una de las dos piscinas, lanza un frisbee o simplemente da un paseo. Originalmente éste fue un centro religioso. Las ruinas del convento Dominicano de monjas de Santa Margarita se encuentra al este junto a las ruinas de una iglesia Franciscana. La torre de agua es una construcción inclinada. Puedes tener un grandioso almuerzo en el Ramada Grand Hotel al extremo noreste de la isla.

Aunque la cultura de las aguas termales tiene sus raíces en el Imperio Romano, esta importante tradición húngara empezó a tomar forma cuando el país se encontraba bajo dominio otomano, durante los siglos XVI y XVII. Los Baños Termales Széchenyi, además de ser un lugar popular tanto para turistas como para lugareños de la capital, también constituyen el complejo termal más extenso de toda Europa. Cuenta con 15 piscinas cubiertas y 3 piscinas al aire libre, y su agua es suministrada por dos fuentes de aguas termales con características medicinales. The first president of the Academy of Music was none other than Ferenc Liszt himself. As well as being a place of study, it is also a performance venue. The Grand Hall (noted for its excellent acoustics) has a capacity of 1200 while the chamber hall seats around 400. The building itself is a masterpiece of art nouveau architecture (completed in 1907), but most of it's design marvels are on the inside—buy a ticket to a performance so you can sit back and enjoy both the music and the architecture.

Crowned by the Citadella, the Liberty Monument, and a statue of St. Gerard of Csanád for whom the hill is named, Gellért Hill is laden with mysteries and legends. This dolomite promontory beautifully frames the Danube, and offers striking panoramas of the city beyond. Steeped in history, the hill once sheltered verdant vineyards and also functioned as an important site during the Hungarian Revolution. Today, the hill's periphery is acknowledged as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. A warren of official buildings amble up the hill's historic slopes, and it also notably houses a prehistoric crystal cave, which was discovered in 2007.

With spectacular views of the Vajdahunyad Castle on one side and the beautiful, ice-covered City Park on the other, the City Park Ice Rink impresses spectators at a single glance. The ice rink is more than 10,000 square meter (107,639 square feet) vast and is a preferred outing spot for many families, couples and groups of friends during winters. City Park Ice Rink has been at its current location since 1870 and it has undergone renovations several times; the present appearance of the rink is a product of painstaking efforts of the local authorities. City Park Ice Rink is one of Europe's finest open rinks and hence it has been a venue for many prestigious events like figure skating championships and ice hockey tournaments. If you are in the city during winter, do take a spin around the rink; it is sure to be an experience you won't forget for a really long time.
