Built during the 18th Century by Paul de St. Julien, Hanover House was bequeathed to his daughter after marriage. It was the home of the Ravenel family for about 200 years before it was dismantled to make way for Lake Moultrie. The relocated structure in South Carolina Botanical Gardens overlooks the heirloom vegetable garden and has been converted into a museum. The building is one of the finest examples of French Huguenot colonial style architecture and is a must-visit attraction in town for history buffs.

The region of Pendleton in Anderson County is most renowned for the Pendleton Historic District. The construction of the district was done mainly in the year 1789. It comprehensively encompasses a total area of 6316 acres (2556 hectares). Most of the structures in the district finely traces the Greek Revival-style of architecture. Some of the structures that are part of this monumental district are Ashtabula, Old Stone Church and Woodburn. This district was registered on the National Register of Historic Places in the year 1970.
Oconee Station State Historic Site is located in Walhalla and was formed during the year 1792. The historic site was registered under the National Register of Historic Places in 1971 and consists of two structures, the Oconee Station and William Richards House. The station was built in the 17th century and was one of the main stations in the area. The troops were asked to leave the blockhouse by 1799. The William Richards House was built in the 19th century and was used as a trading post and later as a residence. The historic site also features a trail and is open to tourists from the months of May to November.

Completed between 1849 and 1851 Old Pickens Presbyterian Church is the only surviving structure of the old town of Pickens Court House, a mid-nineteenth century town situated around modern-time Seneca. The church site also comprises of a cemetery. Visitors are allowed inside the church from April to October, every Sunday from 2.30p to 5p in October.
