Howell Living History Farm is so named because it has a rich history of farming dating back to 1730. This farm has passed through generations of ownership and preserves relics of the previous centuries as well as certain traditional farming methods from the early 20th Century. Today, it organizes multiple programs for children, schools and adults that involve visitors into the nitty-gritty of farming, even while they enjoy the picturesque countryside landscape. Camp on the farm, exchange stories, grow vegetables in a garden, ride a horse wagon, prepare ice cream and pick corn during their interactive public programs, summer camps, internships and class trips. Rancocas Nature Center offers 210 acres (84 hectares) of nature and serenity. Evans-Mumbower Mill or the Keefe-Mumbower Mill is a 19th-century grist mill and probably the only remaining one among the many mills that once dotted the Wissahickon Creek's banks. According to records, there was an earlier mill on the site in 1745 by Abraham Evans. There where several owners in between till Henry Mumbower bought the mill in 1858. It was run and owned by his family till 1930. Today this restored structure is under the ownership of the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association (WVWA). get to know how from being a water wheel powered mill it became a gasoline engine-run mill. Open hour tours are provided on the third Sunday of every month of fall, winter and summer from 1p to 4p. Check out the archaeological artifacts that were excavated by volunteer archaeologists.
