Built by Jacob Hollingswort, Fort Hollingsworth was a frontier fort. Its construction began around 1792 with an intention to safeguard the settlers, their families, possessions as well as animals and livestock. In 1796, the raids ceased and the troubles ended, hence the fort was transformed into farmhouse. Currently in the possession of the White family, the fort is well-preserved and open to visitors. The Consolidated Mine is located in Lumpkin County, Georgia, United States. It was a gold mine and it was opened during the Georgia Gold Rush. Today gold extractions have been discontinued as the cost of operating the mine outweighs the value of gold. This is also one of the only mines in this area that is safe for tourists to visit. This site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 27, 1980.
