The Norman Bird Sanctuary is the perfect venue in Newport for bird watching, hiking and family outings. Located just beyond Newport's Third Beach, the park blends ponds and woodlands with ocean breezes and sandy terrain. Trail maps and public restrooms are available at the entrance to the park, along with ample parking spaces. There are over seven miles of trails, allowing visitors to bird watch from designated posts or enjoy views of the sea from the rocks and hills.

The Rhode Island is endowed with a scenic skiing resort in the form of Yawgoo Valley. It stands to terrific historical significance and is the only skiing resort in the Rhode Island region. Precisely sited on a hill in Exeter, the site is acquaint with several skiing trails. Depending on the season, the park arranges for snow tubing as well as water slides. It is a marvelous place to stay overnight and the rentals are commercially viable. It also provides for lessons in skiing.

The area of Tiverton Four Corners was placed on the National Historic Register in 1974. It is a rural village that dates from the 17th Century, and is a center for antiques, fine art, gourmet food, distinctive crafts, gifts and clothing. Pastoral landscapes and old-fashioned stone walls create a backdrop for shops and historic buildings, such as the 1865 Union Public Library, still serving the public.

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the Osborn–Bennett Historic District is a significant attraction in the town of Tiverton. Comprising architectural marvels such as the Benjamin Barker House, Osborn House and Joseph Hicks House, the district is a haven form history buffs. The cemetery here is also the burial ground of the erstwhile Osborn family. Those looking to learn more about the life and times of the town’s early settlers must head to the Osborn–Bennett Historic District.
