Featuring the history of Arkansas Ozarks, the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History is a regional historical museum that covers the history of this place. Opened in 1992 Walton Arts Center is a performing arts center, a cultural and entertainment hub for the people of Fayetteville. The center's foundation credit goes to the Walton family for their monetary funding. Today the Center hosts a number of plays, musicals, and other artistic and educational events throughout the year.
Lake Fayetteville formed in 1949 from as a result of its namesake dam. The destination is a perfect spot for family day out with friends or with your family. The lake, located in the Lake Fayetteville Park, is a peaceful site where one can enjoy boating and fishing. Seasonal passes are available too. One can also opt for biking around the lake or sit by it with a book or coffee enjoying the sunset.
Designed by artist Hank Kominsky, the World Peace Fountain is a unique testament to the concept. The spherical shaped fountain is inscribed with peace prayers in languages from around the world. A beautiful take on world peace, the sculpture is a must-visit.
A botanical garden in Arkansas, Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is located between Fayetteville and Springdale. It is a garden with seasonal plantings in a small area, a wildflower meadow, a lakeside hiking trail and a self-guided tree identification tour. It is a volunteer-led initiative and is run by a non-profit organization. They host various events having a focus on educational themed meetings. There is a farmers’ market on the premises as well. The garden can be rented out for weddings and photography events.
Popularly known as one of the largest historic cemeteries of this area, the Evergreen Cemetery is a beautiful piece of land that is filled with the freshness of plants. As it's name suggests the cemetery is evergreen with beautiful grass beds and trees around making it a great place to visit and mourn over lost loved ones or also an evening walk.
Started in 2005, the Winslow Museum narrates the rich history of the small town of Arkansas in the form of photographs, clippings from newspapers and periodicals. The museum has archives about how Winslow became a city and some of its popular residents and institutions.
The Art Gallery at John Brown University is located on campus in the Windgate Visual Art building and is managed by the Visual Arts Department of the university. The gallery regularly hosts exhibits by famous artists as well the little known, yet creatively brilliant local artists, students, and members of its own faculty.
Built in 1933 by the Rural Builders Association, the Son's Chapel is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Romanesque and Gothic architecture with a rustic structure, Romanesque arches, a gable roof on the front and a square tower on the right end was once used as a church. The 1922 association is still catering to the preservation and maintenance of the historic chapel, and gives the venue up for wedding rentals as well as tours.
Tontitown Winery, located in Taldo House, prepares all its wine from local grapes. The winery offers free tasting sessions throughout the week. You can taste and buy a variety of reds, whites, and ports here. Their Concord is a fruity red wine, while the Chambourcin is a dry red wine with a cherry bouquet. Among whites, there's the sweet Muscadine and fruity Niagara. If you like full-bodied wines, the Rock House Red and Amico Della Nonna port wines are good options. The winery hosts live music events where you can enjoy great local food, beers and, of course, their wines. The space is also available for private events.
