St Eustace Episcopal Church

St Eustace Episcopal Church in Lake Placid is a haven for devotees and tourists alike. The stone-exposed building has a rustic charm to it and can be easily spotted while passing by. The inside of this church features extensive use of wood and has enough space to host the congregation gathering here every Sundays. St Eustace Episcopal Church also features beautiful stained glasses.

John Brown Farm State Historic Site

Located near Lake Placid, John Brown's Farm is the home where John Brown and his family had lived and has been maintained the way it was, as a significant part of history. Lake Placid

Lake Placid is a tiny, charming town located in the state of New York. Saranac Lake

Avalanche Lake

Located at the foothills of the Mount Colden and Avalanche Mountain, is the Avalanche Lake that spreads over 9 acres (3.6 hectares). The lake was named by the first president of American Association for the Advancement of Science, William Charles Redfield after being discovered by Judge John Richards and Major Reuben Sanford. A substantial rise in the level of the lake was registered as a result of the avalanche that took place in 1869 and 1942.

Mount Colden

Named after an investor in the McIntyre Iron Works, David S. Colden, for having been present when Lake Colden was discovered, Mount Colden is the 11th highest peak in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. What sets this peak apart is the Trap Dike running vertically through the center of the mountain. A haven for hikers and climbers, there are two well-maintained trails up the mountain, each more challenging than the last. A popular winter destination, make sure you gear up and for an adventurous day out.
