Lime Kiln Theater offers theater and concert lovers a unique chance to experience dramas and musicals in the lap of nature. Completely open-air in design, this theater was created in the 19th Century ruins of a lime kiln and quarry with trees all around the space. The Virginia Horse Center is an impressive venue that has 600 acres that holds a large coliseum, multiple barns and show rings, and so much more. This venue is primarily used for equestrian events, but it also hosts non-horse related events such as fairs and dog shows.

Set along Ross Road in Lexington, Boxerwood Nature Center and Woodland Garden encompasses an area of 15 acres (6.1 hectares). Established in the year 1952, this arboretum is now a part of the National Register of Historic Places. This beautiful arboretum is home to a fantastic variety of plants like acer palmatum, ilex verticillata, halesia tetraptera, aesculus pavia and many others. This nature center and garden also features a playground for children, a Fairy Forest, a bridge and a pollinator garden.

A series of fascinating caverns which have naturally formed over the years, the Caverns at Natural Bridge have attracted widespread attention. A large number of visitors brave the 34-storey descent into the bowels of the earth as they admire the surroundings which include the striking Mirror Lake and the enigmatic Well Room. The Colossal Dome Room is another magnificent feature of the caverns; the dome-shaped structure is a marvel to behold. Stalactites and stalagmites can be found in the Canyon room, and visitors will be awed by the many crevices and cracks which have led to the formation of the caverns. Owing to the chilly temperature, it is advisable to don warm clothing or carry sweaters and jackets.

Featuring a spectacular limestone arch which awes visitors, Natural Bridge State Park is replete with breathtaking greenery, allowing visitors to bask in the refreshing environs. The natural arch, which measures about 66 meters, is draped in trees and bushes, presenting a spectacular visage to all those who gaze upon it. A number of trails wind through the park, with vantage points offering stunning views of the Cedar Creek. Visitors can follow the path which runs underneath the bridge and gaze up at the towering wonder of nature, taking in its impressive formation as it dominates the gorge it is nestled within. The striking Lace Falls are also located in the park.
