Attend services at this English decorated style church. Built in 1862 in open fields, the stone building is now in the center of Brown University located on the East Side of Providence. A peaceful country church feeling pervades the atmosphere of this gothic Middle Age structure. Music of the liturgy drifts into the high alcoves of Our Lady's Chapel. The Chapel affords east and west views, a reminder of parish diversity at St. Stephens. Daily Services, small weddings and funerals are held in the Chapel.

Providence Athenaeum

Providence Athenaeum es una de las bibliotecas mantenidas por sus miembros más viejas de todo el país, y sirve como tal desde 1753 (aunque el edificio que ven hoy en día fue construido en 1838). Parque Riverwalk & Waterplace

El Parque Riverwalk & Waterplace se encuentra junto a la confluencia de los ríos Woonasquatucket y Providence, en un pequeño rincón del centro de Providence. El lugar es famoso por los eventos WaterFire, una colección de minifogatas que se mecen sobre las aguas al ritmo de la música clásica y del mundo. Universidad Brown

En 1764 tres hombres de Newport establecieron "La Universidad de la Colonia Inglesa de las Plantaciones de Rhode Island y Providence". Por fortuna, no pasó mucho tiempo hasta que acortaron el nombre a "Universidad de Brown" en 1804. Esta universidad es una de las más famosas del país y uno de los originales 8 miembros de las Ivy League Colleges. En el campus verán excelentes ejemplos de arquitectura del siglo XVIII en los patios Wriston y Simmons, así como también en el campus de Pembroke College y sobre Benefit Street. Si están en la zona de College Hill, cerca del Sports Complex, no olviden tomarse una foto con Bruno, la mascota de la universidad, antes de irse.

First Unitarian Church

Destroyed once by fire and rebuilt in the 19th century, this striking pale stone and wood edifice attracts visitors strolling historic Benefit Street. The Gothic-looking spire rises tall above this corner of College Hill, with its handsome black-faced clock, and the church bells can be heard tolling through a portion of the East Side. The services at the First Unitarian Church start on Sundays from 10.30am.

St Peter & Paul Cathedral

In 1837, the cathedral was established with the celebration of the first Mass. It is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence. The structure is made from brown sandstone and is a standing example of architectural brilliance. Inside the church, green marble is extensively used. Oil paintings and statues form an integral part of this church. The stained glass windows, depicting scenes from testaments, take you back in time. It also has the largest organ featuring 6,616 pipes.

Our Lady of Lourdes Church

Built in 1925, Our Lady of Lourdes Church is a historical church designed by Ambrose J. Murphy and Walter F. Fontaine. Designed in the Romanesque Revival style of the late 19th And 20th Century, the church features a structure made of steel-frame and clad in bricks. There is also a school and convent on-site that were built in 1905 as well as a rectory, built in 1912. If you are in the mood for a dose of history, certainly head to the Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Memorial Hall

Built in 1884, Memorial Hall at Milford, Massachusetts is a tribute to the Civil War. Using Milford granite and Longmeadow brownstone as materials for constructions, it gives it an aesthetic and exclusive feel to the entire building. There is a bronze plaque in the front end of the building that has the Lincoln's Gettysburg Address inscribed on it. Restorations were carried out in the beginning of the 21st Century to revive its look that had mellowed down since its construction. Now it is used as a museum and got listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Hearthside House

Hearthside House is a magnificent 19-century mansion that is located on Great Road in the state of Rhode Island. This stone edifice adorns a federal-style of architecture and was constructed by Stephen Hopkins Smith. This house was previously owned by Frederick C. Sayles. Visit the museum and learn about the area’s rich history. Visitors can opt for guided tours here. In addition to this, they can also host events like classes and workshops. This old house is part of the National Register of Historic Places.

Lafayette-Durfee House

As far as history speaks, the Lafayette-Durfee House was built prior to 1750, and it changed location to the new spot at Cherry Street. The land which the house was originally situated on, was mortgaged by Thomas Durfee, the owner of the property for financing the American Revolution. Thomas' son, Joseph served with Marquis de Lafayette as a colonel at many times. The Durfee family hosted Lafayette during summers and on many occasions. The house was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Dutch Island Lighthouse

Set in a picturesque location, Dutch Island Lighthouse sits secluded on a remote Island. The historic structure set on the southern end of Dutch Island, originally built in 1826, went under renovation within a few years; the current edifice paired up with the keeper’s house was built in 1857. The towering structure is 42 feet (13 meters) tall brick construction, widely used to navigate ships and ferries. Added to the National Register of Historic District, the lighthouse is not open for visitors. The best way to get a glimpse of the historic structure is via boat ride.
