The Alcázar of Segovia, or Segovia Castle, is one of the historic landmarks of Segovia. Casita del Infante was constructed between the years 1771 and 1773. It lies close to El Escorial, a fine Renaissance palace-monastery. It was built as a private residence for Infante Gabriel. The castle's construction took place in a period when it was a trend among the royalty to have a small, private house.
