The Goldie Paley Gallery at Moore College of Art and Design features contemporary art, architecture, photography and crafts by national and international artists. Harriton House is an 18th-century house constructed by Rowland Ellis who named it 'Bryn Mawr' meaning high hill in Welsh. The town that the structure calls home, is in fact named after it. The ownership of the house eventually passed on to Charles Thomson, the man who designed the Great Seal of the United States. He also restored the house and furnished it with artifacts of the period. The Harriton Association operates this house currently as a museum and a cultural exchange place for students and teachers.
