Soar over picturesque woods as you admire the view of snowcapped peaks looming in the distance, a stunning portrait of natural grandeur characteristic of Colorado's spectacular wilderness. A ride on the gondola not only provides convenient transportation between the towns of Telluride and Mountain Village, but is also an incredible way to admire the pristine vistas unfurling all around. Spanning a journey time of 13 minutes, the gondola is also free of charge and is accessible to all those looking to embark on hiking and skiing excursions in the vicinity.

Bridal Veil Falls

A torrent of frothy waters tumbles over the craggy walls of an impressive canyon, plummeting down 365 feet (111 meters) and splashing against the boulders and rocks strewn in its path. Touted to be the tallest of their kind in the state, the majestic Bridal Veil Falls present an awe-inspiring sight, the roar of the gushing cascades serving as an ever-present background score for explorers mapping the terrain of the woods that envelop them. While those brave of the heart are often inclined to make the arduous climb up the falls, some others are content to bask in their stunning beauty while capturing the view for posterity. One of the most popular attractions in the Telluride area, the Bridal Veil Falls are an unmissable phenomenon!

Telluride

Set amid mesmerizing glacial canyons, Telluride is a hill town in Colorado, located at the base of the picturesque San Juan Mountains. What was once a remote mining area is now a popular destination for skiers, artists, and celebrities. Visitors to this delightful town can take their pick of its renowned attractions, which include the Telluride Ski Resort, Bear Creek Falls, a stunning Historic District and Arts District, and the Telluride Historical Museum. This serene hill town is also a shopping paradise, its quaint streets stippled with premium boutiques as well as fine dining restaurants. With festivals held throughout the year, you're sure to bump into something fun and happening whenever you visit.

Columbine Lake

A stunning cerulean lake, Columbine Lake is a must-visit destination nestled within San Juan National Forest. The trail leading up to the lake is known to be quite strenuous due to its steep inclines and rapid elevation gain. Along the trail, hikers can expect to see dense forests, open tundras, wildflower-covered valleys and meadows, scenic mountain peaks, and pristine creeks. The lake by itself is a magnificent sight to behold with its shimmering sapphire water contrasting against the pale jagged mountains surrounding it. Hikers can relax by the lake and admire its hypnotizing aqua glow.

Geyser Spring Trail

Geyser Spring Trail located inside the San Juan National Forest in Colorado, is considered to be the only true geyser. This turquoise blue water is a delight to come across after a small hike of around 3 miles (about 5 kilometers). Unlike other geysers, this one is not as crowded as it is a trail through the forest and it well hidden among the vegetation. Easily accessible, with a small bridge that gets you across the river, guided by the smell of sulfur in the air. The geyser has small eruptions at regular intervals and if you stay long enough, you might be able to see the geyser bubble and froth just enough to spill over the edges into the creek. But be warned that due to the sulfur and other gases emitted by the geyser, this area is oxygen deficient and can make you light headed if you stay too long. The hike, the scenic view and the warm geyser is worth a visit.
