Sentinel Dome

A remarkable granite-clad domical hill, Sentinel Dome is one of the highlights of Yosemite National Park. The dome is famously recognized as the location for a Jeffrey Pine Tree that grew at the summit of the dome. The trail that winds across the sloping inclines of the dome is very popular among avid hikers. Posing a challenge to adventurers, this iconic natural landmark invites visitors to scale it and rewards them with spectacular views of the valley from its summit.

Parque Nacional de Yosemite

A World Heritage Site, Yosemite National Park is a bountiful reserve nestled in the heart of the Sierra Nevada, over 140 miles (225 km) to the east of San Francisco. Giant sequoias tower to dizzying heights at the Mariposa Grove, while the bare walls of the hulking Domes rise from the verdant depths of the valley. From the thunderous descent of the Yosemite Falls to the wildflower-laden Tuolumne Meadows, the Yosemite National Park is a tapestry of awe-inspiring spectacles, dappled with pristine lakes and etched with canyons; a maze of stark granite walls riddled with tumbling cascades that drench the scene in a cool mist. Amid the varied habitats of the Yosemite National Park thrive a fascinating variety of flora and fauna including the endemic Sierra Nevada bighorn sheep. Visited by thousands each year, the Yosemite National Park continues to inspire awe in the hearts of all those who venture here. There are several permanent campgrounds and accommodations, dining options, a visitor center, and a myriad of hiking trails at the Yosemite National Park, weaving the perks of civilization through the heart of the wilderness.

Yosemite Sugar Pine Railroad

This train is a restoration of the narrow-gauge Madera Sugar Pine Lumber Company Railroad. The four-mile track was rebuilt using original techniques, and it runs two vintage shay steam locomotives pulling a few passenger cars. You will hear the engine whistle, snort, blow and more. You will also be in the forest and get a good feel for what logging was probably like in the 19th century. The trains run on a variety of daily schedules from March through October.

Middle Cathedral Rock

The Middle Cathedral Rock is an imposing formation dominating the valley's terrain. The rock is regarded among the most famous climbing destinations in the country and its East Buttress is the most traveled route to the top. The East Buttress is also mentioned in Steve Roper and Allen Steck's book "Fifty Classic Climbs of North America".

Half Dome

Towering above the expanse of Yosemite Valley, Half Dome is a distinct and popular rock formation in the Yosemite National Park. The granite dome is one of the park's most recognizable features and evokes a sense of awe in visitors. Owing to its perch, the dome affords spellbinding 360-degree views of the scenery. It is a popular excursion for avid hikers and thrill-seekers. Due to its difficulty level, only experienced hikers and climbers are encouraged to traverse the trail leading to the dome's summit.

El Capitan

El Capitan, which literally translates to “The Captain” is a mountain climb meant for the adventurous of heart and seasoned climbers. It is a mammoth rock formation situated in the Yosemite Valley. If you are not a climber, don’t lose heart, another way to see the El Capitan is by hiking and following the trail along the valley. Visitors travel from far and wide to visit this breathtaking natural landmark and experience the thrill of nature’s beauty.
