West Beach

West Beach is situated at the southern tip of Lake Michigan and is a great place to relax. Popular as one of the best beaches for families, it is a good spot for enjoying leisurely picnics within Indiana Dunes National Park. Several trails are leading from this beach to nearby lakes, parks, and into the wilderness. This beach is also a part of the famous Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and is the site of the Succession Trail, a challenging trail over the dunes, consisting of a flight of steps and a boardwalk. If you complete this trail, you are rewarded with a spectacular panoramic view of the lake.
