Predominantly characterized by a chaparral landscape, it offers a bird's-eye view of the surrounding Palomar Mountains, Coyote Canyon, and Santa Rosa Mountains. Hike on the moderately rated Pacific Crest Trail and revel in the scenery which unfolds along the way. Along this route, you will find a variety of trees and shrubs like Coulter pines and manzanita. A must visit for photography enthusiasts.

Set at the foothills of Coyote Mountain is a massive field, a destination that must be on your itinerary should you happen to visit the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in Spring. During this period, a carpet of colorful wildflowers drapes the expanse of the California Poppy Field. A seasonal occurrence, the lovely flowers of various colors make for an enchanting sight. Located along Henderson Canyon Road, this field is a must-visit.

A veritable archaeological site, Indian Hill is a part of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. It is believed the hill was inhabited by the Kumeyaay Tribe thousands of years ago, thereby giving the location its name. Surrounded by an arid landscape with very little vegetation, the place makes one wonder about the ingenious way of life that the tribe adopted to survive here. The hike to this destination reveals marvelous treasures such as the wind-eroded boulders that form the hill, cacti gardens, and even hidden caves.
