Oranjestad

Located on the scenic southern coast of Aruba– Oranjestad is the historic capital city of this island nation. The charming city is best explored on foot and makes for an intriguing touristy place with it's old buildings and heritage sites—each with a distinct history. Founded in 1796 and built around Fort Zoutman, this city is renowned for its Dutch colonial architecture. Oranjestad also serves as a tax free harbor and is a great place to shop for authentic Aruban artifacts.
