The society of Methodists in Tacony numbered 16 members in 1873 when worship services were first held in a small chapel. After outgrowing that location, a new church was built in 1882 and continues to be used today. Members form a tight-knit Congregation whose purpose is to proclaim the love of God to the world and to serve the surrounding community. Individuals and families actively participate in the ministries of the Tacony United Methodist Church and its various fellowship programs.
