An annexe of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Fidelity Mutual Life Insurance Building is a celebrated building in the Fairmount and Pennsylvania Aves. It comprises of exhibition galleries, conservation labs, offices and the museum library. Exquisitely structured, it boasts of a Cathedral-like doorway. The interior is vibrant and the lustrous windows add to the dazzle. The gallery serves access to a 30,000-piece collection of textile and costumes. Constructed in 1926, facing the museum building, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 2, 1973.
