Northern Velebit National Park

Away from the busy roads and bustling human population, the northernmost region of Velebit Mountain, the largest mountain in Croatia is covered by the picturesque National Park Sjeverni Velebit. Established in 1999, the Park covers an area of 109 square kilometers (42.08 square miles) and consists of some of the most ecologically valuable and interesting species and habitats. It offers exceptional hiking opportunities and the well-marked trails run through lush mountain forests, botanical gardens and wide landscapes and meadows. A must visit for trekking enthusiasts.
