The late Fonfon would have been proud to see that his restaurant's excellent reputation lives on. Still a family-run affair, one of the city's best places for seafood serves a mean bouillabaisse (cooked to perfection using ingredients fished from the sea close by), whilst other dishes including poisson à l'argile (clay-baked fish), and poisson grillé (grilled fish) should easily satisfy the most demanding of palates. Huge bay windows ensure a fabulous sea view while you dine. Très magnifique!
This restaurant facing the sea, in the small city centre marina, is well worth a visit. The busy staff bustle about in an immense dining room that is decorated in Provençal style. The seafood served is so fresh that it seems to have been taken straight out of the sea. In a beautiful ambience Chez Jeannot offers the best of Pizzas, Coquillages, Poissons et viandes grillés and Pieds-paquets.
Peron is a gourmet restaurant in Marseille with an absolutely breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea. Once you’re at the restaurant, whether indoors or on the terrace, you’ll notice the lack of road noise and honking horns –a place where tranquility is total. The restaurant serves many fish specialties and of course the famous Marseille specialty, La Bouillabaisse, which is one of the restaurant’s key dishes. Due to the amazing view and the gourmet standards, Peron’s prices are proportionate. Reservations are strongly recommended.
L'Epuisette is ideally located and enjoys an excellent reputation in Marseille. It is situated so close to the edge of the Vallon des Auffes seawall that it's nearly in the water. Consistently fresh ingredients, unpretentious recipes, perfect seafood dishes, and ingeniously prepared desserts, which you'll find as dazzling as the brilliant reflections of the 'Big Blue.' A prestigious establishment with a highly professional staff.
The success of Une Table au Sud is accredited to the creative forces behind this restaurant; Lionel Levy and his wife, Florence. The cuisine changes depending upon the availability of ingredients in the local market. This is one place where you can never be sure of what's coming next. The menu is highly unpredictable and unexpected changes occur anytime. The desserts at Une Table au Sud are the main attraction which include pineapple dacquoise served with vanilla-flavored whipped cream. At the entrance, you are greeted with two huge sculpted lion heads. Overall, the creative items on the menu and the fine quality of the food put together give a fascinating experience.
Since 1946, this quaint dining spot, which overlooks the sea, has been the place to go for Bouillabaisse. The menu categorically excludes frozen fish, and even fish raised in captivity: freshness is a top priority here. Grilled fish flambé with fennel, oyster preparations and lobsters innovatively prepared and some really mouth-watering desserts are on offer for affordable rates at Chez Michel.
One of the best restaurants in town. With a 60s style décor, the Minguella brothers offer an inventive and sweet smelling cuisine fresh from the sea. Wonderful fish soup, fish of the day grilled to your taste, crispy butter and honey dory and splendid desserts created by Fabrice Vaquer. Relaxed but excellent service and an accomplished wine list that includes many regional varieties.
