Apart from an opportunity to fish off the boardwalk, the park also offers a boat launch for those who would like to venture out onto the Lake Macatawa. Holland State Park offers a plethora of activities and hence is always abuzz with visitors. Sprawling 142 acres (57 hectares) along the beautiful Ottawa Beach in Holland, the park features rolling dunes, playgrounds, and dramatic views of Holland Harbor. Here, you can play on the beach or simply take a leisurely stroll; you can also enjoy a game of beach volleyball with your family or friends. The park also offers other facilities like picnic tables, grills, camping sites, and a boat launch.

Standing proudly at the south of the Holland Channel since 1870 is Holland's beloved and popular "Big Red" lighthouse. It is popular for being one of the most photographed lighthouses in Michigan. Currently, it is owned and maintained by the non-profit lighthouse commission. In 1870, a small wooden lighthouse was first built at this site. Eventually, the lighthouse was expanded and automated in 1932. Today, its iconic red structure is a defining landmark of Holland. When in town, witness this landmark that looks like a beautiful picture postcard brought to life.

Windmill Island Gardens is a beautiful collection of flowers and greens. They host special Tulip exhibitions in the month of May. The park is also home to the Zwaan windmill which is said to be the last mill that was allowed to be transported from the Netherlands. The mill is still functional and flour grinded from it is sold to the visitors and locals. The park is a seasonal park and is opened in the month of April every year.
