Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery

Located in Lindsborg in McPherson County, this art gallery was founded by Swedish immigrants. The gallery is dedicated to Birger Sandzén, a Swedish-born painter, who produced most of his artwork in America, where he worked as an art professor at Bethany College. His artwork includes many landscape scenes, including depictions of the American Old West, the Rockies and Yellowstone National Park. The gallery is home to a variety of artwork in oils, watercolors and prints by Sandzén, and works of art by other local and regional artists, as well as nationally recognized artists. The gallery also hosts music programs, poetry readings, gallery talks and special member events on a regular basis.

Red Barn Studio Museum

Red Barn Studio Museum is home to the works of Lester Raymer, a renowned artist and resident of Lindsborg. When in town, embark on a cultural tour with a visit to the museum as you admire the works of the prolific artist and learn more about his life and career. Apart from Raymer's works, the museum also displays works of art by other artists in the region and conducts art events. Known for its knowledgeable staff and immersive tours, Red Barn Studio Museum is a must-visit attraction in the town.

Coronado Heights

The Coronado is an old hill located northwest of the Swedish town of Lindsborg. Standing at an elevation of roughly 300 feet (91.44 meters), the sandstone bluff is part of a chain of six others in the region. In 1936, a castle-like stone shelter was erected on its summit, which has now become a popular tourist attraction. Today, the hill is also known as Coronado Heights Park, which makes for a spectacular recreational destination offering beautiful views of the surrounding region.

Old Mill Museum

This museum is dedicated to the preservation of the rich heritage of McPherson County. With special emphasis on the period from 1870 to 1910, the museum collects, preserves, researches, exhibits and interprets materials related to the early heritage of McPherson County. The major highlights are the 1898 Historic Flour Mill, 1904 World's Fair Swedish Pavilion and other historic buildings. Researchers can visit the museum by prior appointment. Apart from being a museum, the venue is home to Swedish parish records, and visitors who have ancestors who lived in McPherson County, it’s likely some records of their lives can be found in the historical documents here.

Swensson Park

Swensson Park is a tranquil green recreational space in Lindsborg. The park offers a variety of activities such as walking, picnicking, and sports. Featuring a picnic shelter well-equipped with grills, electric outlets and lights, it is ideal for having a leisurely picnic for families. Other amenities at the park include basketball courts, tennis court, children's playground, and restrooms. A beautiful gazebo with a stone water fountain completes the charm of this serene place. The park is also a popular venue for concerts, performances and other local events.

Swedish Phone Booth

Locally referred to as Tala Dala, the Swedish Phone Booth is a quirky little attraction in the quaint town, Lindsborg. Named after the traditional wood-carved Dala horses, the phone booth is modeled after a classic British phone booth. While British phone booths are known for their iconic red color, the Tala Dala has been painted in shades of light blue and golden yellow, which are known to be traditional Swedish colors. When in town, locate the unassuming little site and stop by to take some wonderful pictures with it.
