Featuring several activities that are conducive for physiological, behavioral and social development of the children, Smith Memorial Playground provides several opportunities for creative, unstructured play. The place also includes an adorable playhouse that caters to kids younger than 5 years of age. The John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum is the largest standing freshwater tidal marsh in Pennsylvania. The mission of the refuge is to preserve the marsh, promote environmental education, and provide visitors with an excellent opportunity to observe wildlife in its natural habitat. The Heinz refuge offers nature programs, environmental education workshops, field trip consultations, and a resource library. All workshops, field trips and related services are offered free of charge. The Refuge is an excellent resource for birdwatchers, hikers and nature lovers.

Challenge Grove Park is a 17.77 acre (7.19 hectare) scenic park located in a quaint corner of Caldwell Road and Bortons Mill Road in Cherry Hill. The park provides facilities for biking, softball, long jump and basketball. Challenge Grove Park also features biking trails, picnic areas, playgrounds, indoor restrooms, a landscaped donor recognition garden and a bus parking lot with pathways connecting to all the facilities.
