North Branch Nature Center

Set on the banks of Winooshi River in the city of Montpelier, North Branch Nature Center is a beautiful nature preserve. Encompassing an area of 28 acres (11 hectare), this preserve is scattered with woodlands and grasslands. It is home to a visitor center that features a library, a community room and a space to host classes and other such gatherings. Children can explore this preserve by participating in field trips, camps and after school programs that are conducted by the center. This nature preserve is a great place to visit for nature lovers.

Bragg Farm Sugar House & Gift

Nestled in the countryside of East Montpelier in Vermont, Bragg Farm Sugar House and Gift is a family-owned farm. This farm is known for their delicious maple syrup. Visitors can take a guided tour of their traditional sugarhouse where maple syrup is produced. In addition to fresh maple syrup, they also sell products that are made of maple. Some of these include candies, cream, sugar, cookies, kettle corn and truffles. At the farm’s gift shop you will also find other items like coffee, mustard, cocoa, honey, pepper, cheese and a lot more. This farm is a great place to visit with family and friends.

Vermont State House

The Vermont State House first played host to the state government proceedings in 1859. A stunning example of the Greek Revival style of architecture, this imposing 19th-century building is accentuated by a golden dome which was gilded at the beginning of the 20th Century. Albeit a government building, the state house's on-site museum and cultural facilities make it viable to the commoners on regular basis. Ornamented with artistic displays by citizens, the place has rightly earned the epithet of "the People's House."

Hubbard Park

Situated close to Winooshi River in Montpelier, Hubbard Park is spread across an area of 194 acres (79 hectares). This scenic park is home to several pavilions, fireplaces, picnic areas, trails and a soccer field. During the winters, visitors can go skiing or snowshoe hiking on the park’s trails or go sledding on Old Shelter hill. This park also features a 54-feet tall observation tower that was built between the years 1915 and 1930. In 2018, this historic stone tower was listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Vermont History Museum

Located close to Winooshi River in the city of Montpelier, Vermont History Museum is a great place to visit for history lovers. This interesting museum takes you through Vermont’s historic past and culture. It features various exhibits like antique furnishings, paintings, clothing, weapons, printing press, documents and a lot more. They also host museum visits for various educational institutions in the area. At the museum’s well-stocked store you will find items like maps, books, toys, postcards and a lot more.

Camel's Hump State Park

Camel’s Hump State Park gets its name from the third-highest mountain in Vermont, Camel’s Hump, which resembles the desert animal’s back. A part of the Green Mountains range, this mountain is situated on the long trail route of the state park. Famous among hikers and adventure enthusiasts, an undeveloped steep trail leads to this peak that stands tall at 4085 feet (1245 meters). This towering and striking mountain offers a scenic vista of Mount Mansfield in Vermont, Mount Marcy in New York, and Mount Washington in the far east of New Hampshire.
